Jennifer Tefft

Jennifer Tefft is a fired up, energizing presence who pulls earthy music from its roots and breathes fresh, soulful, rock and roll life into them. Her music combines intense rhythms with melancholy textures and haunting vocals that wind easily from darkly ethereal to outspoken, creating her own brand of Gritty-Lush Alternative Rock.

After getting her start playing for change in the subway tunnels and streets of Cambridge, MA, Tefft has gone on to release four CDs on her own Gypsy Spin Music label. Jennifer’s releases have received critical acclaim such as a Boston Music Award nomination for Best Female Vocalist, and a “Boston’s Best Unsigned Band nod by local press. Shift was awarded “Best Alternative Album” by the Just Plain Folks association in Hollywood, CA. Songs from all 4 releases have been and continue to be used on National Television shows such as CSI, MTV, Stargate Universe, One Life To Live, The Young & The Restless and many others.

Jennifer's song "Breathe" was awarded "Best Song" in the 2014 Rock and Reel competition. She is a 12 time nominee for the WMRC Local Music awards, bringing home "Best Original Album" award for Time Is A Thief in 2014 and "Best Female Vocalist" in 2015 & 2016.  She was also named the Runner Up for Limelight Magazine's "Songwriter of the Year" Award in 2015.

On October 5, 2014, Jennifer was invited by the New England Patriots to sing the National Anthem at Gillette Stadium before a crowd of 68,000 people prior to the Patriots vs. Bengals game!  Based on that performance, Jennifer was then invited to again sing the National Anthem, this time at TD Garden in Boston before the 3 Boston Bruins games. Jennifer has just finished recording her 5th CD. Produced by Fran Flannery (aerosmith, creed, fuel) the album is set for release in early 2017!   As time and life constantly move and change, so too does Jennifer’s music. She is exploring new sounds, new ideas and collaborating with other new artists. What is emerging is fresh, insightful and exciting!

The intensity and energy of the live show, whether it be a full band performance or a more intimate acoustic gig, often takes people by surprise and when people leave a Jennifer Tefft show, they are already making plans to come back!
